Jose Guadalupe Posada’s Mexican folk imagery (think Mariachi skeletons playing instruments at a party for the dead) and Russian prison tattoo symbols come to mind, but it’s also about an extreme culture clash: Mexican devils meet the English bourgeoisie. This book shows what Lakra is all about: he’s the Mexican artist prankster, the diablito, tattooing the world, leaving his mark everywhere.
